Commander Jason R. Hinkley

Commander Jason R. Hinkley is a native of LeRoy, Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February 1992 following his graduation from Reed City High School in 1991 and completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill. In October 2006, he was commissioned under the Limited Duty Officer program. Commander Hinkley earned a Master's in Business Administration from Trident University International in 2024.

His enlisted assignments include USS WAINWRIGHT (CG 28), USS UNDERWOOD (FFG 36), NAVCRUITDIST Michigan, and USS ZEPHYR (PC 8) where he was selected to Chief Boatswain’s Mate and was immediately transferred to USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). His next assignment was at Beach Master Unit One where he deployed with Beach Party Team Alpha onboard USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52) and was selected as a Surface Deck Limited Duty Officer.

Assignments since commissioning have included USS DENVER (LPD 9), USS JUNEAU (LPD 10), USS BOXER (LHD 4), USS SAN DIEGO (LPD 22); Assault Craft Unit 5 where he deployed with Det. Foxtrot onboard USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18); Deck Inspector for the President, Board of Inspection and Survey; Surface Operations and Deck LDO/CWO Assignments Officer, PERS-414B, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN; USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78); and Port Operations Program Manager for Commander, Navy Installations Command.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (Three Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Seven Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Six Awards) along with various campaign, unit and service awards.
