LCDR Gregg Moore is a native of Illinois. He enlisted in the Navy in February 2001 and attended naval seamanship training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL. He completed Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, CT. He commissioned as a Submarine Ordnance Limited Duty Officer in November 2013. He holds an Associates of Arts in History from American Military University.
His sea tours include Deck Division and Machinist Mate Weapons Petty Officer aboard USS FLORIDA (SSBN 728), Machinist Mate Weapons Leading Petty Officer aboard USS Tucson (SSN 770), Machinist Mate Weapons Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Montpelier (SSN 765), and Assistant Weapons Officer aboard USS Nevada (SSBN 733).
His shore tours included duty as the Machinist Mate Weapons Chief Petty Officer for Submarine Learning Facility Norfolk, VA, Test Instrumentation Officer for Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU), Assistant Weapons Officer Commander, Submarine Squadron 17, and Director of Security for Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific. He reported to his current position as Executive Officer, Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, NJ in March, 2026.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, as well as other unit and campaign awards.
