Commander Alden Argante

Commander Alden Argante was born in Manila, Philippines and later migrated with his family to Virginia Beach, Va. He enlisted in the Navy as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician Electrical (GSE) in June 1996, graduating from Recruit Training Command and Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. in March 1997.

He was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2004, and was later selected as a Limited Duty Officer, Surface Engineering Repair (6130 designator) in 2007. He completed LDO/CWO Indoctrination School in Newport, R.I.  Commander Argante holds an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Tidewater Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from University of Maryland University College.

His enlisted duty assignments include USS San Jacinto (CG 56), USS Mason (DDG 87) and Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) Naval Station Norfolk, Va.

Commander Argante’s commissioned assignments include Chief Engineer onboard USS Wasp (LHD 1); Chief Engineer aboard USS Sentry (MCM 3) forward deployed to Manama, Bahrain; Main Propulsion Assistant aboard USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51); Electrical Officer on USS Bataan (LHD 5); Engineering Inspector at the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV); and Engineering Assessor and Project Officer at Engineering Assessment Atlantic (EAA).

He served as the 35th Commanding Officer of Navy’s floating dry dock DYNAMIC (AFDL 6) from January 2022 to August 2023. 

Ashore, he served as Assignment Officer for Surface Engineering Limited Duty and Chief Warrant Officers (PERS 414C) at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn. and as the Officer-In-Charge/Senior Inspector of Shipboard Material Assessment and Readiness Testing (SMART) for Commander Military Sealift Command before assuming his current role as installation executive officer on June 16, 2025.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards).
