Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England (NMRTC NE) is the health care system for the Navy in the Northeast Region, providing medical care to over 70,000 beneficiaries. Primary and specialty care services are provided at all facilities with hospital based care provided through the partnership hospitals of Newport Hospital, Newport RI, William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich CT and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, CT.

Navy Housing Service Center offers assistance to military service personnel and their families seeking availability of Public-Private Venture (PPV) housing for both accompanied and unaccompanied personnel. 

Child And Youth Programs supports operational readiness, mission accomplishment and retention through services and assistance for military personnel in balancing the competing demands of family life and improving the economic viability of the family.

Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Programs includes all of the opportunities that strengthen your experience and enhance your well-being. These services at NAVSTA Newport include a community recreation center, bowling center, fitness center, food and beverage concessions, the Newport Officers' Club, an RV park, and our famous Marina.

Navy Exchange (NEX) operates a main retail store, two mini-marts, a gas station, and a uniform store. Additional offerings include food vendors, a dry cleaner, and a package store.

Our Commissary is operated by the Defense Commissary Agency which operates a worldwide chain of stores offering groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families in a safe and secure shopping environment. Commissaries provide a military benefit, saving authorized patrons thousands of dollars annually on their purchases compared to similar products at commercial retailers.

Military ID Card/DEERS Service Center issues identification cards to service members, their family members, military retirees and beneficiaries, and others to prove their identity and their connection to the Defense Department. These military ID cards also give you access to military services and programs.

Navy Gateway Inns And Suites combines all the comforts of hotel accommodations while specializing in official business support and services. If you're traveling for leisure or business, NGIS is an option for your lodging needs.

Navy Lodge offers guest rooms designed for comfort and convenience for authorized patrons relocating to or visiting the installation.  The Navy Lodge is pet-friendly and offers many other amenities to its guests.

Pass And ID Office assists visitors without military identification cards or Common Access Cards (CAC) with gaining access to the installation for approved purposes and business.
