Master Chief Cedric R. Marks is a native of Nashville, Tenn. He enlisted in the Navy in November 1993. His initial training consisted of Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill., followed by Postal Clerk Apprenticeship Training in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind.
His shore assignments include tours at Naval Air Station Atsugi, Japan; Commander, Fleet Activity, Yokosuka, Japan; Postal Clerk Rating Manager at Center for Service Support, Athens, Ga., and Newport, R.I., where he was instrumental in the development of the Logistics Specialist accessions training in lieu of Postal Clerk/Storekeeper merger and Assault Craft Unit 4, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek..
At sea, Master Chief Marks served aboard USS Mobile Bay (CG 53), USS Cowpens (CG 63), USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) and USS Vella Gulf. In April 2021, he reported to Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads as Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Marks received his Associate Degree in Business Administration from Coastline Community College and attended the Senior Enlisted Academy in 2007, Class 130 (Grey). He is also the graduate of the CMC/COB Class 155.
His personal awards include Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), as well as various unit and campaign awards.
