Command Master Chief Palmer is a native of Vero Beach, Florida where he graduated high school in 1998. CMC Palmer enlisted in the Navy in January of 2000 and after attending Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, he reported to Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center for Sonar Technician "A" School.
CMDCM Palmer's first sea tour was aboard the USS SAMUEL ELLIOT MORRISON (FFG-13) in Mayport Florida and follow-on sea tours include the USS ESTOCIN (FFG-15), USS CARNEY (DDG-64), USS MUSTIN (DDG-89), and USS STETHEM (DDG-63).
CMDCM Palmer's Shore tours include Commander, Naval Forces Japan, Oceanographic Research Detachment in Yokosuka Japan, and Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center in San Diego, CA.
In 2015 CMDCM Palmer attended the Senior Enlisted Academy where he graduated as class 189's honor graduate. In 2017 he was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Program and filled in for a gapped Command Master Chief on USS STETHEM. His follow on CMC tours include Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae, VAQ-134 “GARUDAS”, NORMANDY (CG-60), and his current command Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads.
CMC Palmer has qualified as a Tactical Action Officer, Officer of the Deck Underway, Acoustic Master Analyst, and Master Training Specialist. He has earned the Aviation Warfare Enlisted Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Specialist devices as well as various campaign, service, and unit awards.
