Mission. Emergency Management protects the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads communities by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.

Stay Informed. The Emergency Management Department ensures that our Service members, family members and employees are provided with awareness and emergency preparedness information in an effort to minimize the potential for Warfighter mission failure, and the loss of life and property.
During a large-scale emergency, the Emergency Operations Center activates communications channels which keep our communities posted about the emergency and any action that should be taken to minimize the impact of the storm or other emergency.
