Master Chief Barman is a native of Jacksonville, FL, and enlisted in the Navy on July 16, 2002. He was assigned as an Aviation Electronics Technician, converted to Electronics Technician in 2007, then was selected for the Command Program in 2021. His sea duty assignments include USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), USS Mason (DDG-87), USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19), PCU Cooperstown (LCS-23), and USS Billings (LCS-15). His Shore duty assignments were NAS Key West, FL, TOCRON-10, and NSA Lakehurst where he is currently serving as the Command Master Chief and Deputy CSEL for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 236 Gold. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), and various unit and campaign awards.
