CMDCM Isaiah Marauta

Master Chief Petty Officer Isaiah Marauta is a native of Wakonda, South Dakota. In August 1995, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Mess Management Specialist and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL, followed by MS “A” School in San Diego. 
 
In December 1995, he reported onboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68), serving as a cook on watch, records keeper and completing a deployment and a world cruise.
 
Upon graduation from Wardroom Private Mess “C” School, Marauta reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia where he served as baker, records keeper and advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. Following a successful three-year tour, he reported onboard USS La Salle (AGF-3) to serve as galley watch captain and was promoted to First Class Petty Officer.
 
When USS La Salle was decommissioned in May 2005, Marauta reported to USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) to serve as galley watch captain, records keeper, Leading Petty Officer and Leading Culinary Specialist. 
 
After a successful tour on the USS Carter Hall, he reported to Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center in San Diego, for an Individual Augmentee (IA) tour in Afghanistan. In 2009, during the IA deployment, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. Upon return from Afghanistan, he reported for Instructor Duty at Culinary Specialist ‘A’ School, Great Lakes. There Marauta assisted in relocating the ‘A’ school to Fort Lee, Virginia and was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
In 2013, he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy (class 173) before reporting to USS James E. Williams (DDG 95). Aboard the destroyer, Marauta served as Supply Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Command Senior Chief.  Also there, he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer.
 
In July 2016, he reported as Command Master Chief to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA-195) in Atsugi, Japan. During his tour at the squadron, he helped in the Permanent Duty Station change from Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan. There he guided the command to achieve the FY17 CNAP Battle Efficiency Award and other unit awards.
 
In July 2018, Marauta assumed duties as Command Master Chief for Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada. Two years later he was selected to be Command Master Chief of Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, transitioning to the position in October 2020. Marauta reported to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief onboard Naval Weapons Station Earle in December 2022.
 
His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Army Achievement Medal and various other unit and campaign awards. He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist.
