Lieutenant Tucker Bonow is a native of Houston, Texas. He graduated from University of Nebraska- Lincoln in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences. While at Nebraska, LT Bonow gained his commission through the NROTC program. Following his commission, he reported to the USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20), homeported out of Sasebo, Japan.
Onboard USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20), LT Bonow served as the Fire Control Officer and Administrative Officer, where he operated in the 7th Fleet Area of Operation from 2017 to 2019. While there, he participated in Exercises Cobra Gold, Talisman Sabre, Tiger Strike and Sssong Yong; promoting INDO-PAC relations with allied nations. Additionally, he qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO).
Upon completion of his assignment to GREEN BAY, LT Bonow received orders to USS DANIEL INOUYE (DDG 118) in Bath, ME as the ships first Assistant Chief Engineer and was a part of the first crew to serve on the ship. While aboard, LT Bonow earned his Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) qualification and is a plankowner for USS DANIEL INOUYE.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (one), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (one), and various unit and campaign awards.
