Sailors volunteer to clean up Norfolk Park

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (NRMA) First Class Petty Officer Association (FCPOA) has partnered with Keep Norfolk Beautiful and will volunteer in a spring cleanup on March 24, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lafayette Park at 3500 Granby St., Norfolk, Va.
The FCPOA broadens the professional development of all first class petty officers, while volunteering in local communities, and fosters morale and esprit de corps.
“As a member of the First Class Petty Officer Association, it’s important to me that we not only give back to the community but also that we get our junior Sailors out in the community as a way of mentoring and building camaraderie. We are happy to work with Keep Norfolk Beautiful because this is where we work and this is where a lot of us live. We want to do our part to help keep Norfolk beautiful,” said Petty Officer First Class Mathew Malloy.
