Purpose: To provide legal advice to the Commanding Officer, Naval Station Norfolk and subordinate commands, and Transient Personnel Unit Norfolk. Composed of the following main branches: Military Justice, Administrative Separations, Investigations, Non-Judicial Punishment, and Administration. Legal assistance services to include notaries and Power of Attorneys are provided on a limited basis to Naval Station personnel. Also serves as Freedom of Information/Privacy Act Officer.

Legal Assistance: Provides advice concerning domestic matters (divorce, separations, adoptions, name changes), landlord/tenant disputes, wills and powers of attorney, consumer issues, contracts and other personal legal matters. Advice is provided to active duty, dependents, retirees and dependents. As RLSO receives numerous calls daily, it is strongly recommended that you fill out the client intake form and email to rlsomidlantla@us.navy.mil rather than calling to ensure that your legal service needs are addressed.
Notary Services: RLSO offers Federal notary services only and not public notary services.
