Temporary Lodging - Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Lodge
Eligibility
The All American Inn provides temporary housing for Department of Defense (DoD) ID cardholders. Rooms are available on a space-available only basis for Service Members not on orders. Space-A reservations can be made for a maximum stay of 3 nights, with a possibility to extend depending upon availability.
Availability
The temporary lodging facility (TLFs-All American Inn) is the main lodging facility for families on permanent change of station (PCS) to the joint-base. The TLF (bldg 2786) is located on Mitchell Road (McGuire).
Amenities
Each TLF is equipped with a small eat-in kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, bedroom and bathroom.
Reservations
Most PCSing families (all with children) will be assigned to the TLF. You should have reservations; in summer, you must have reservations. TLFs are severely limited during the summer months due to high turnover of personnel. PCSing families are usually allowed 30 days of TLF; this may be reduced to 20 days or less during the summer months.
During the summer some VOQ/VAQ units may be converted to TLQ "suites" - two rooms separated by a bath with no cooking facilities other than a microwave in the hall. The billeting staff will make every effort to ensure you have temporary lodging on base.
Cost of Temporary Lodging
Service Members are fully reimbursed for temporary lodging expenses (TLE) for a maximum of 10 days only during the PCS process (in and out combined). Service members can choose the "most expensive 10 days" to file for TLE. At McGuire, the maximum TLE allowed is $105 per day. Other than these 10 days, Service Members draw basic allowance for housing (BAH). Check your BAH rates, so you are fully aware of the cost, over time of temporary lodging. Cost of lodging for Service Members is based on what temporary lodging facility you will be occupying (regular or family style) cost ranges from $39.00-$41.50.
Pets
Pet friendly units are available on McGuire in the TLF. A $10.00 daily charge will be applied to your guest folio.
Child Development Centers
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB-MDL) has child development centers (CDC) on Lakehurst, McGuire and Dix.

Lakehurst students attending preschool through eighth grade attend the Lakehurst School District. Manchester High School serves students from ninth to twelfth grades. Lakehurst Youth Center is located in building 487, adjacent to the Military and Family Support Center 732-323-4043.

Service Members and families under orders should make advance reservations at the All American Inn (formally combined bachelor housing facility) by calling 732-323-2266.
Pets are not allowed at the Lakehurst Temporary Lodging Facility site; however, arrangements can be made. When bringing your furry friend to JB MDL, be sure to contact lodging ahead of time to book a pet-friendly room while you are in transition. Kennel recommendations and contact information are available upon request from lodging staff for those who wish to stay off-base. If your pet needs medical attention or routine shots, visit the JB MDL vet clinic. McGuire-Dix Veterinary Treatment Facility is located at 3259 Gettysburg Avenue, Fort Dix NJ 08640.
