Gate Hours

NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON has three(3) primary gates for personnel to enter the base.  Our main gate (Gate 1)is open 24 hours a day and is the primary point of access for personnel and their vehicles.  During the work week and other events as warranted SUBASE opens access to the base through gates both on the northern and eastern sides of the base.  Gate 3 on the Northern end of the base is usually open for workfoce traffic patterns in the morning and at the end of the day.  Gate 7 our commercial gate is primarily for commercial vehicles and closes around 4 p.m. weekdays.

Personnel driving on Naval Submarine Base New London are required to possess at a minimum,

A State Driver's License

Valid vehicle Registration

Valid active Automobile insurance.

The Main Gate (Gate 1) located on Crystal Lake road at the intersection with the Historic Ship Nautilus/Submarine Force Library Museum entrance is open 24 hours a day, year-round.

The Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station (Gate 7) is also located on Crystal Lake Road on the right side of the road as you approach Gate 1..

Hours of operation are:
Monday thru Friday, 5:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Pass and ID Hours for visitors -

Monday thru Friday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
