Commander Kurt E. Davis is a native of LaPorte, Indiana, and enlisted in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist in September 1992. He advanced through the enlisted ranks to Chief Petty Officer and received a commission through the Limited Duty Officer Program in October 2004. He assumed the responsibilities of Naval Weapons Station Yorktown's Executive Officer in March 2024.

Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), First Marine Division as a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer, USS
Anzio (CG-68) as Assistant Operations Officer, and USS
Wasp (LHD-1) as Operations Officer in support of Operation Odyssey Lightning.
Shore and Staff assignments include Operations Specialist "A" School as Instructor and Course Supervisor, Military Sealift Command Headquarters, Washington, D.C., and Tactical Training Group Atlantic as the N7 Department Head and Air and Missile Defense Instructor/Mentor. Recently, he served at Naval Information Forces as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for the N8 Directorate and N826 Directorate Branch Head responsible for tactical data link warfighting requirements and fleet spectrum management.
Commander Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management with a concentration in leadership from American Military University. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit citation and service awards.
